5.5 weeks to go

Wow, the time is just whizzing by! After saying I was feeling better healthwise last week, I felt exhausted on Sunday and now have swollen glands. I always get a sore throat when I start to cut my carbs down. Hunger has been manageable though. Guess it's just a reminder to listen to my body and get more sleep. Hard at the moment cause I am really busy with work.

Weight: 55.2kg

Food: Have cut my fruit down to one piece per day as of today, so the amount of green veggies will be going up. No diet coke from now on!

Training: Still going well, though I am conscious of hogging some of the equipment at the gym when I'm doing my supersets, LOL.

Cardio: Has been nonexistant for the first couple of days this week so I don't get too run down. Will make up for it later in the week when I'm feeling better.

To do this week:
1. practise routine!
2. see if I can get the video part of my camera working to check my posing and stage presentation.

Hate getting sick during contest prep. I think I was sick at the same point in my count down last time. Hope you are feeling better now, it's hard to know when to listen to the body and when to battle through (in my case I try battle through).

I too use photos to see my progress, but unlike you I'm not going to post them up just yet.

At least you don't have 'make' scale weight, that's my problem, I try hard to hold on to the muscle but have to work hard to get my weight down (body fat droping ok...will see on Saturday, next BF test and weight in). Either way if I need my time I will just not go to Nats and do Nth Harbour 3 weeks later.

How funny we would have been in the same class - I'm glad you're not in NZ now cause you presented a pretty mean package! In saying that we have very different Body Types so it would have depended on what the judges were looking for on the day.

Anyhow, best wishes for the coming weeks of prep...

Hi Charlotte,

thanks for stopping by my blog. I've just read through your latest posts and it sounds like you're going great guns. Its also interesting to read how people prepare differently.
Keep up the good work and I'll be following your progress with interest.

Cheers Magda

Thanks Eve, best wishes whatever show you decide to do. Cheers, Charlotte

Hi Magda, thanks for stopping by! It is interesting to see how people do things differently, isn't it. My contest prep has changed a bit from my first show, when I barely had any fruit for 12 weeks, and hardly any dairy. All I craved after that show was fruit salad and yoghurt! For my next show and this one my calories have been counted more strictly but I have a greater variety of foods in my diet, which helps to keep me sane! Cheers, Charlotte

Take the good with the bad but don't let it get to you though, it'll pass. Getting close isn't it, keep up the great work and don't lose sight of your goal. :o)

Hi Charlotte,
Good luck with the remainder of your prep. Getting sick is such a nuisance at this stage but you sound like you know what your body needs and will hopefully get over it asap. Keep and your great work, Nic

Hi Nic

Thanks for visiting. Have just been taking things slowly this week, and should just manage to fit all my weights and cardio sessions in by the end of the week. Am feeling better than I did earlier in the week but still not 100%. I will be working through the weekend, then things should ease off a little next week and I will be able to catch up on my sleep!

Cheers, Charlotte

Hi Charlotte,
Let a little note to let you know that I really enjoy reading about your progress. The whole prep process for a comp intrigues me and it is nice to see someone write about it so honestly. I first saw pic s of you competeing through the Go figure website. You are going to do just as great this year.

Hi, glad you enjoy it! It's also a good way of me recording things so I can look back for my next show and compare, so it pays for me to be as honest as possible! Thanks for your support :-) Charlotte
